The big day

I got to get this Mi3!!!

So... New stocks will arrive on May 27th. I've no Credit/Debit cards! How should I buy my Mi3? I know someone with credit cards... Heh heh. Na.. That's not right! I got to find another way.

Well, time goes by and so does Mi3. It's past 12 noon when I peek on my phone's watch. Oh dear, not my luck.

Hey... wait a minute!!! What's this I see on Xiaomi Malaysia FB?

A service outage on Amazon Web Services which occurred earlier today affected our site. After it was resolved, we need to run tests on our end to ensure everything is working fine. Please be informed that the service outage is not in our control and we have to make sure we are able to provide the best for all Malaysian Mi Fans, that is why we made the decision to postpone the sale to 12PM on 28 May 2014.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and we sincerely hope for your understanding on this. Thanks.

Wahh!!! I still have my chances. Hm, wait. I do own an ATM card. Yes... now I remember. I can switch this old card with a new one with a Debit functionality. That evening I went straight to the bank and change my old (I mean realy old) card for a new Debit card. I was charge RM12 but that's ok (why so expensive?).

So, I'll wait for my luck tomorrow.

The 'big day' came. I got to try my luck! How in the world could I compete with so many MI fans (million maybe) who will also be online today? What ever...

I went to Xiaomi Malaysia website and registered my self before login in. Waiting the time goes by (actually I'm in my class, learning how to do Internet Business. Sorry teacher  ). It's almost 12. I opened the Mi3 page and waited. At exactly 12 noon, I refreshed the page and 'walla', no!!! Why so lag? I waited and my luck, the 'buy' botton appeared. Without delay, I ordered a unit of Mi3 with bundled flipping case and screen protector. It's now time to checkout. After checking out, another problem arises.

I put the card number correctly, how come the system rejected my payment? It stated that there was a problem regarding my debit card and I should contact the bank for approval. That's suck.

I left my transaction for a while, go for lunch with my wife, then go straight to the bank. After some discussion, the banker help me to activate 'payment' function. Ooo, now I know. Whenever you want to use debit card for payment, you have to first 'activate' the maximum amount for your debit card (make sure your balance is not near zero...).

Aroud 2-3 hour later, I came back to my laptop to proceed the payment. "Your session has ended...". What the ...? Shock due to the payment status, I push the browser's back button and refresh the xiaomi checkout page. Luckily they reserved my session and I continued the payment. Luckily, the payment was successful. Wohoo!!! Eh, alhamdulillah...

Now I just have to wait. Oh... My Mi3 (Is it really that good?).

Xio... what?

Xio... what? That's what came in my mind when I first read about Xiaomi. What phone is that? What kind of company is that? Well, I know some of the 'Big daddy' and some familiar 'China phone', but Xiaomi?

I first read about Xiaomi from an article by Amanz.my. Xiaomi Mi3 launch? Is RM889 that cheap for 'China phone'? What are those hype about? 8 minutes sold-out in Singapore during 1st launch? This I got to research :p

I'm not interested about Xiaomi itself. I know it's from China. I'm not sure if the brand is reliable as some of the 'Giant' there. So for my first step, lets find out about Mi3 itself.

What's inside Xiaomi Mi3, I mean under the case (casing)? Well after 'googling' here and there, I got some of the key features:

Chipset

  • CPU:  Quad-core 2.3GHz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8274AB
  • GPU :        Adreno 330

Camera

  • Camera (back): 13 Megapixels
  • Camera (front): 2 Megapixels
  • Flashdual-LED

Battery

  • Capacity:  3050mAh

RAM

  • RAM: 2GB RAM
  • Flash memory: 16GB

Display

  • Display: 5-inch Full HD 1080p, IPS Retina display, 441ppi, 1920x1080 pixel

Operating System

  • Android: 4.3 optimized with MIUI version 5

What the?!!
I believe other 'smarties' with the same specs would cost around RM1600 or above. How come Xiaomi selling it for only RM889? Are they nuts?

Ah, don't bother! At least the users get the benefits of it. Hey, wait a minute.... What about me?

I started thinking about exchanging my 'lagy-smarty' phone. What if... My budget is tight, but the desire is high. I got to try my luck. I must have this phone!

Unfortunately, I don't own a credit/debit card... So, bye-bye Xiaomi :'(
4000 units sold out on just 17 minutes? Why Malaysian so desperate? Ayya! I 'wantu'...
